Canon launches 2018 "Green VietNam" program
(Thanh Hoa – 1st April 2018) – Nearly 150 Canon volunteers and 50 pupils of Nhu Thanh high school, Youth Union of Thanh Hoa provincial Communist Party, representatives from Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Nhu Thanh District’s People's Committee joined in planting forest festival “For a green Vietnam” 2018.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Minoru Niimura - General Director of Canon Vietnam shared: "Vietnam is one of the 5 countries which is the most seriously influenced from the climate change around the world. So, what should we do to improve the climate change situation? One of the best ways is planting tree and having program to educate and promote environment protection. Planting forest not only reduces climate change but also helps us build a greenhouse for all. The baby trees we planted today not only for us but also for our future generations. This will be the most precious gift we can give future generations. By this activity, we hope that not only the Youth who join planting forest today but also local people and people over the country will raise their awareness on environment protection.”






Following the ceremony, Canon organized some attractive activities such as recycle competition, Question and Answer “Magical circle” which helps to raise awareness of participants about nature protection, saving natural resources through answering questions about environment protection, water, climate change, energy, waste as well as recycling waste into useful things for life.


Launched in 2011, Planting forest “For a green Vietnam” project kicked off in a 10 hectare of Ben En National Park, aiming to protect low belt system, and protect the Erythrophleum fordii plant. After 7 years, there are 150 hectares of forest has been planted.
With a philosophy aimed at a Green - Clean and Beautiful environment and sustainable development through social activities such as planting forest "For a green Vietnam", environmental protection campaign, garbage collecting in response of World Environment Day, Canon has contributed to make Vietnam’s environment healthier and enhance people's awareness of the need to protect our environment.
Launched in 2010, up to now, the project "For a green Vietnam" by Canon Vietnam has planted over 250ha of protected forest in provinces, and in future will be expanded further, contributing to bring green throughout the country.
