Canon - Hand in hand for biodiversity conservation at Turtle conservation center

(Ninh Binh – 15th Apr 2019) Today, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. has cooperated with Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center to organize the biodiversity conservation program at Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center of Cuc Phuong National Park, Nho Quan District, Ninh Binh province. There are representatives of Management Board of Biological Rescue and Development Center, Management Board of Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. and nearly 80 Volunteers of the Company. It is known that Vietnam is ranked as one of 16 countries in the world in terms of the level of diversity of biological resources. To join hands to contribute to biodiversity conservation, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. visited and awarded Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center some essential equipment for turtle conservation such as: 2-way air conditioner, refrigerator, freezer, moisture-proof cabinet, microscope and automatic water pump. In addition, in this Biodiversity Conservation program, the company management board and nearly 80 Canon Vietnam Volunteers also carried out activities to take care of turtles such as building turtles, changing water, cleaning turtle tanks, processing, feeding turtles directly. In addition, Canon Vietnam volunteers also participated in a series of voluntary activities such as growing vegetables for turtle food, making turtle nests and preparing foods for turtle planting trees and souvenir flowers.




This is the first year Canon Vietnam implemented activities to support and support biodiversity conservation, including tortoises and freshwater turtles with the aim of preserving biodiversity and conservation. The protection of turtles is seriously threatened by illegal hunting and trade.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Minoru Niimura - General Director of Canon Vietnam Company said: “Through the program, I hope the volunteers as well as the young Vietnamese. We will raise awareness of biodiversity conservation and protect our green planet”
With the philosophy of "Kyosei - Living and working for the common good", Canon Vietnam hopes the program will continue to be replicated further to contribute more to the conservation of the biodiversity, for a better and better future.
