Launching ceremony of "Student Chie-tech contest"

On August 9th 2019, at the conference hall of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, 64 Ba Trieu, Hanoi, Canon Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union hold successfully the launching ceremony of “Canon Chie-tech Contest” 2019 Contest. At the ceremony, there were representatives from Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Central Vietnamese Students Association,Vietnam Student Support and Development Center,leaders of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., representative ofrelated specific Agencies, Students Associationand students from universities, colleges, institutes in Hanoi, representatives of televisions and press agencies.

“Canon Chie-Tech contest” is a contest of automatic equipment manufacturing. Chie (in Japanese) is intellectual & Tech (abbreviation of technology in English) is technology, Chie-Tech is used to refer to the use of intellectual and technology to create equipment ofinnovation and breakthroughs to improve the production quality and efficiency as well as easily respond to the change of production with savingcost.

“Canon Chie-Tech contest” is for technical students from universities and colleges throughout the North and aims to improve student’s skills of research, creativity and manufacturing aimed to study, create and develop automation products associated with the actual operation of enterprises with savingcost, actively supporting production activities of enterprises. In addition, when participating in the contest, students also have the opportunity to communicate with engineers and skilled experts in the field of industrial engineering; to exchangeand learn from each other, to express themselves to improve the skills of success in the future.

In “Canon Chie-Tech contest” , students will participate in designing and manufacturing automatic products under the topic given by Canon. The topic: Manufacturing automatic packaging equipment. Participants will be supported a budget to manufacture equipment.Maximum 30 productswill be selected to participate in the online voting round and "Canon Chie-Tech Festival" that will be held in Hanoi in December 2019. The Judge Board are professional experts from Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., manufacturing techniques and representatives of the Central Youth Union. At the festival, students who interested in science and technology will have the opportunity to meet and communicate with professional technical experts and engineers from domestic and abroad.The Organizerwill award prizes for the best products with the following structure:

- 01 First Prize value 30 million VND, certificate and Merit of Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

- 02 Second Prizes value 20 million VND per one, certificate and Merit of Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

- 03 Third Prizes value 10 million VND per one, certificate and Merit of Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

Prizes for most favorite products through online voting: - 01 First Prize value 03 million VND and certification from the Organizers.

- 01 Second Prize value 02 million VND and certification from the Organizers.

- 01 Third Prize value 01 million VND and certification from the Organizers

Group prize:

- 03 prizes for the school with the highest number of application & reports (for 03 schools in 03 regions in the North, Central, Central Highlands and South, only for schools with 05 or more application & reports): each prize 5 million VND in cash.

- 03 prizes for provinces and cities with the highest number of application & reports (for 03 provinces and cities in 03 regions of the North, the Central region, the Central Highlands and the South, only for the provinces and cities with 10 or more application & reports): each prize is VND 5 million in cash.

Besides, the students with good results in the contest will also have the opportunity to intern and work at Canon Vietnam.

The Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Student Support and Development Center and Canon Vietnam wish that the “Student Chie-Tech Contest” will become an annual event on technology for technical student, increasingly expand scale, contribute to building high quality human resources to serve the development of supporting industry, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals of Vietnam in the coming time.
