STUDENT OF 6 HIGH SCHOOL “TOGETHER WITH CANON DEPART TO THE FUTURE”

On Mar 28th, 2022, Canon Vietnam cooperated with Hung Vuong Tour and Bac Ninh, Bac Giang Provincial Youth Union, Dong Anh Districial Youth Union - Hanoi, Kim Anh High school – Hanoi, Huu Lung Districial Youth Union orrganize successfully the career orienting and equipping library program, named “Together with Canon depart to the future” for about 8,000 students in: Hiep Hoa no. 4 High school and Phuong Son High school (Bac Giang); Ly Thuong Kiet High school (Bac Ninh); Dong Anh High school & Kim Anh High school (Hanoi); Huu Lung High school (Lang Son).

“Together with Canon depart to the future” is the social activity project “Together with Canon depart to the future” is a social project implemented by Canon Vietnam starting from 2019 with the aim of organizing the career orientation program for pupils and equipping the school’s libraries. This activity also aim to 3 sustainable development goals: goal no. 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; goal no. 8 – Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all; gola no. 9 – Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. Canon hopes to help pupils to choose the future career suitable with themselves, family conditions as well as society needs, and help pupils in rural areas increase their opportunities to approach and improve more knowledge and skills. Then, contributing to the development of educating and training as well as the industrialization and modernization of Vietnam.

Within the framework of the program, Canon Vietnam presents about 3,000 reference books, life skills development books, cultural-educational books, ... and bookcases, library management software system, Canon printers with a total value of 300 million VND, and organizing career orientation for about 8,000 students from grades 10 to 12 of 6 schools.

Delivering speech at the ceremony, Ms Dao Thi Thu Huyen – Senior Manager of Public Affair and CSR Promotion Division, Canon Vietnam shared: “In Japan, the career orientation for pupils is drastically implemented from the secondary school, then after graduating from secondary school, the pupils are able to decide to study at the technical training schools or continue studying at high schools and universities. This is also the common trend of developed countries in the world. To my knowledge, recently Vietnam has applied the proposal of educating career orientation for pupils to catch up with that trend. We hope that through the career orientation program, you will know how to choose the suitable future jobs, how to determine your dreams, as well as how to make plan to make your dream come true. Then, we hope to help Vietnam improve the quality of national human resource training and integrate with regional and international countries.”

Therefore, Canon Vietnam prsented over 10,000 reference books, life skills development books, cultural-educational books, ... and over 30 bookscase, 15 library management sofware system, Canon printer and organizing carrer orientation for over 28,000 pupils from grades 10 to 12 of 18 high schools of 7 provinces: Hanoi, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Lang Son, Hai Duong, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho.

With the philosophy of “Kyosei - Living and working together for the common good”, Canon Vietnam hopes that the project will continuously be expanded to more rural schools in the next time in order to contribute more to the development of Vietnam as a leading Japanese enterprise in Vietnam for a sustainable development society, aiming to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Vietnam and the world.
