Canon Vietnam join hands to conserve biodiversity at the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center Hanoi and the Bear Conservation Center in Ninh Binh
[Hanoi – March 17th, 2023] Today, Canon Vietnam Co.,Ltd cooperated with the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center to organize biodiversity conservation activities at the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center in Soc Son, Hanoi. Attending the program were representatives of the Center’s management board, representatives of Canon Vietnam Co.,Ltd and company’s volunteers.
The activity “Biodiversity conservation” has been carried out by Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd since 2019 with the goal of joining hands to contribute to biodiversity conservation and realize the sustainable development goals. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations in general and of Vietnam in particular, which include: Goal 15 – Protecting and restoring terrestrial ecosystems, conserving biodiversity; Goal 14 – Sustainable protection and restoration of marine and coastal ecosystems. The implementation of these goals is also aimed at responding to and preventing climate change in Goal 13.
The representative of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd visited and presented the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center with some equipment for conservation work such as disc cutters, driller, washing machines. In addition, representatives of the Company and volunteers also directly planted trees such as myrtle, schefflera octophylla to create a landscape similar to the natural environment of saved animals such as wildcats, monkeys,… to create better conditions for the recovery of the animal's health and instincts before being returned to the wild.




In the near future, on March 24th, 2023, the Company will continue to carry out biodiversity conservation activities at the Bear Conservation Center in Nho Quan, Ninh Binh province. In this time, the Company will visit and donate to the Center lawn mowers for clearing grass in the semi-wild area for bears. In addition, the company's volunteers will participate in the planting of bananas near this area to feed the bears.
This is the fifth year the biodiversity conservation program has been implemented. With the philosophy of "Symbiosis - Live and work for the common good", Canon Vietnam will continue to replicate this activity so that it can contribute more to the conservation of biodiversity and actively contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Vietnam and the world.
